As a highly successful exporter of live lobsters from Fiordland the Te Anau based company felt their long serving Kiwi Lobster brand had become a little archaic and less appropriate for the sophisticated business it represented. They asked Nimbus to create two brands.
The first was for the company. This logo would reflected the company’s strong connection with New Zealand’s wild Fiordland wilderness. It would also need to reflect the conservative, respectable character of the company.
The second was for a trading brand. This is the brand their product would carry into the market place. It needed to identify with the Spiny Lobster and its already widely respected “Kiwi Lobster” moniker. This brand was conceived as a stamp device – a mark of quality – that could also sit happily with the company logo.
